Standalone: Love - The "real" emotion?

Does Love rule above all or is it just a figment of our imagination? Are we cynical for not believing in it or are we just informed?
Regardless of your personal opinion, the ideology of Love co-exists around our daily lives. Whether it is spoon-fed via the television set or passing by a passionate embrace oblivious to the undesiring masses, Love is present.

In the 21st century are we still branded as cynics or even "un-believers" for not wanting to experience or witness Love in fruition? Are we going to be forced to accept the idea of Love and that it's always going to exist in our world?
A certain calender date "Valentines Day" exists, where couples should shower their significant other with Love, however if we do celebrate it, are we just giving into the soulless commercialization of the concept? Are we non-romantics if we decide not to conform to the "tradition" of celebrating this day?
Many indiviuals claim to exist solely due to the love of a companion or a significant other, but does Love even exist? Is it possible to feel the same "overwhelming" emotions for our daily mannerisms?
Could one feel the same infuation towards our jobs, our clothes, or our toasters for example?
The thought of doing so would make some of us titter to ourselves, however there are certain beings in this vast world who do have such an other-worldly attachment to items or "things" that we, as the public, could brand as crazy, or mentally unstable. However, if they are happy with that signficant other, are we one to judge? Specially as the majority of us from a young age are fed the concept of Love from leaving the mother's breast.
All in all, the concept of Love does not seem to be disappearing for a clear amount of time in our societies today.
