Politics 101: Why care about politics? (2)

Politics is often viewed as a mundane, elitist topic, so why should we actually care about it?
Politics shapes the society we live in, our day to day lives, everything is affected, whether it be marriage rights; wars; our salaries or even basic necessities like healthcare, there is no way to escape the reality that political powers rule. In layman's terms, politics are the methods we use to guide, change and conserve society. The majority of people are concerned with issues that affect us, however voting turn-outs are at an all-time low. Do people care about these issues but not enough to vote?

The vast majority of countries benefit from "democracy". One commonly defined feature of "democracy" is the right to vote for who you want to represent you on a local and national scale.
So how could one gain political know-how if they know absolutely nothing about the topic?
      - Do your research, whether it be through videos, books or searching the Internet in general.
      - Try to find your own political standing, search for an ideology close to your beliefs instead of
following the crowd. (Even if you are heavily influenced by a certain ideology, it's good to do
your research, as to not run into any surprises.)
     -   Brushing up on political terms and concepts will aid you greatly.

In our Politics 101 blogs, we will cover political terminology, stretching from left to right wing. Stalin to Hitler, from centuries ago to the present day and beyond.

In conculsion, our first two blog posts have been nothing more than a taste of politics 101, we have tried our best to attempt to entice you into the world of politics, we hope to educate you on the political world we all reside in.
